I am a newer professor, with my first official semester being Fall 2022. I hold two degrees, a Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University in Wildlife, Sustainability, and Ecosystem Sciences concentrated in Horticultural Science, as well as a Master of Science from Texas State University in Integrated Agricultural Sciences.
I hold ~3.5 years of formal teaching experience that I gained as a TA while earning my Master’s degree and through my time here at ACC. Additionally, I am just short of a decade of experience working in various parts of the agricultural industry. In my career; I
have helped to initialize farm setup, worked on farms and ranches in North, South, and Central Texas, produced agricultural research and pollinator research, aided students in furthering their knowledge of agriculture, and led volunteer efforts to involve students and the public in hands-on agricultural learning experiences. Additionally, I’ve worked in other parts of the industry, such as within diesel mechanic shops, welding shops, and a brief stint in animal science when I raised show animals.
I come from a semi-rural agricultural background, and it is my career goal to improve the lives of those involved in agriculture through education. I believe this is important, because education is the key component that allows an individual to hold a stronger
interface with the world around them. Through this interface, you can not only improve your own life, but the lives of those around you and the well being of your community.
Less formally, I am an avid outdoorsperson, I love spending time in the gym, I’m obsessed with japanese food, and I have a wonderful dog named Mary that I treat like my child.
