Welcome to the Engineering Technology Department
The Engineering Technology department provides education and training for students who are seeking a technical career in an electronics technology related field. Moreover, the work of the department is to serve the central Texas business and industry corridor by providing a highly skilled and qualified technical workforce via its program offerings. The Engineering Technology department will consistently work toward fulfilling its mission while simultaneously holding true to the values prescribed by the Austin Community College District.

Technician
Train as an entry-level general electronics technician, needed in many industries including manufacturing, instrumentation, communications, and energy.
Engineering
Technology
Develop practical hands-on technician skills and complete academic courses that can be transferred toward engineering programs found at 4-year colleges.
Solar Energy
Gain a strong knowledge of solar energy systems, energy efficient structures and assessments. Learn practical skills for the high-demand field.

NI, formerly known as National Instruments, has partnered with Austin Community College for a program that offers a scholarship & paid apprenticeship opportunity for 2023 high school graduates. Students work part-time at NI while taking classes.
