Overview
As a member of a survey crew, the Rodman position provides support for the successful completion of projects under the direction of a Party Chief.

Responsibilities
What can you expect on a daily basis?

Assist members of the assigned survey crew with various job duties such as clearing brush; carry rod from point to point for staking; set up back site with tripod and prism as well as packing and unpacking survey equipment and supplies in trucks for daily job duties.

These job duties and others work to accomplish the successful completion of a project within the established guidelines set forth by Survey Department Manager.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED certification
    1 year previous experience in land surveying is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all level of employees within an organization, both verbal and written skills
  • Ability to follow directions from supervisor as well as other members of engineering staff and management team
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Must be able lift up to 35 lbs on a consistent basis for carrying various types of survey equipment such as tripod, prism, rod; hand and power tools, and buckets with supplies
  • Must be able to work between the hours of 6 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday; occasional Saturdays. May include some occasional, over night travel
  • Must be reliable and dependable
