Field Survey Technician

Essential Functions:

  • Collect field data using technology such as GPS devices, locators, and scanners.
  • Prepare sketches and notes of collected field data for presentation.
  • Mark up utilities with paint and understand color scheme of each utility.
  • Willing to learn about drone technology and obtain drone pilot License.
  • Upload field data in proper format to project folders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15+ lbs of equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk long distances when fielding large projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience with GIS and survey (preferred but not required)

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Requirements):

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English at a professional level
  • Have a Valid Driver’s License
  • Be able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Have or be able to obtain reliable transportation
  • Pass criminal background check

Location: Austin, TX with travel to projects sites as needed.
Travel: 50%+ Travel is expected for this position’s essential job duties.
