Bowman Consulting has Summer 2020 opportunities for highly-motivated and hard-working Land Surveying Interns with a desire to learn and grow professionally. This paid position will report to a Survey Team Leader and will be introduced to and utilized in surveying work both in the field and in the office.

 
As part of our survey team, candidates will have the opportunity to work as part of a field crew, learning the basics of surveying; setting up, operating, and maintaining survey equipment; performing survey calculations; and computer drafting and modeling. Bowman invests in the latest technology to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality service and end results. Survey team members will have the opportunity to learn about 3D laser scanning and drone surveying as these technologies are becoming more prevalent in the surveying industry.
 
Our survey team will invest the time and resources necessary to train and develop the selected individual. For candidates who are looking to begin a career in surveying, we have a structured Career Path Program that begins with an internship and will offer guidance and mentoring as your career advances.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be enrolled in community college courses; a college degree program; or other formal continuing education program; a focus on land surveying, GIS or related discipline is strongly preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Able to work outside in diverse weather conditions, often working near equipment or machinery on rough, uneven, rocky or slippery surfaces
  • Able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds
