Position Information
This is great for anyone interested in breaking into surveying! No prior survey experience required. RPLS mentors will provide candidates with guidance on growing their career as a surveyor. Candidates will be expected to work in the field and office, obtain measurements, perform records research, and create survey products. Estimated maximum overnight travel for field work is five days per month with travel expenses provided. We will accommodate higher-education class schedules. Successful candidates will show an interest in all aspects of a surveying career. Tell us about your education, including specific high school or college classes that have prepared you for this career! Goal is for the candidate to graduate from this position, get their RPLS, and find placement at a local District office somewhere in Texas. Our rural Districts have a distinct need for land surveyors. TxDOT land surveyors with an RPLS can make a maximum of $114,099 per year. Ideal for those looking to have a clear career path in surveying.
