Moy Tarin Ramirez Engineers, LLC (MTR) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Surveyor in Training (S.I.T) to join our fast-growing San Antonio, Texas team.

MTR is a well-established engineering firm founded in San Antonio, Texas. MTR provides civil engineering design, land surveying and planning consulting services for commercial, residential, governmental, religious, recreational, educational, and municipal developments.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision on an RPLS for assigned projects and timelines
  • Assist in daily support and scheduling of field crews as well as maintain close communication
  • Able to perform final plat preparation, research and data computations
  • Work with RPLS to prioritize and organize assignments on deadlines and be able to communicate effectively
  • Process and check GPS field data as well as input and retrieve information from the survey instruments
  • ACAD Civil 3D survey and surfacing experience required
  • Prepare boundary (including ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys and Category 1A) surveys, tree, topographical and improvement surveys, prepare easement documents, provide support for engineering projects, calculate construction staking information
  • Prepare metes and bounds descriptions
  • Perform QA/QC check on workflow and ensure project deadlines are met
  • Maintain close communication with the RPLS and Project Managers to report survey progress, give input on survey scope of work for projects, and find solutions on projects with difficult scopes of work
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently, efficiently, and accurately

Qualifications:

  • Surveyor in Training (SIT Certification)-Required
  • +2 years of Land development survey experience
  • Researching public records
  • Analyze field data for boundary reconstruction and prepare meets and bounds descriptions when necessary
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing Easement documents, Rights of way surveys, Plats, ALTA’s, boundaries, property descriptions, topographic surveys, and project management
  • Detail oriented individual with good technical skills, who can adapt to new technology, techniques and processes as industry/clients dictate
  • Experience with both public and private sector work (EX: state, city, county, utility districts, and private land development)
  • Team oriented but able to work independently. Able to work within client expectations and timelines
  • May be required to complete safety or relative courses for project work
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Outlook. Microstation and InRoads a plus, but not required.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a full background check

Schedule Expectations:

Full Time
40-hour work week
Monday-Thursday Schedule or Monday-Friday Schedule (available if desired)
