CNBT 2305 – Building and Contracting
Basic process of organizing and operating a building or contracting business.
This course was developed by an instructor who owned a construction business. While developing a business plan, students learn about the various aspects of owning and managing a construction business. These include details on:
- Types of businesses and identifying the best type for a specific company
- Financing and capital
- Bookkeeping
- Sales and marketing
- Managing the business
- Equipment (purchase vs. rent, depreciation, etc)
- Bidding on jobs
- Contracts
- Employees vs. subcontractors
