Building Construction Technology Mission and Goals
The Austin Community College Building Construction Technology (BCT) program’s mission is to serve Austin, its surrounding communities, and the construction industry with the goal of developing students into skilled, knowledgeable, productive employees and life-long learners.
Under the instruction of accomplished industry professionals, students develop an understanding of building science fundamentals, construction management theories and best practices.
BCT strives to prepare degree and certificate seeking students for industry jobs through the combination of comprehensive lectures, theoretical class discussion and building lab activities.

This means great opportunity when you choose an Associate of Arts in Construction Management. The greatest career growth is possible if you enter the field early in your career. Paid internships are possible, giving you real-life experience and contacts in the industry.We offer an Associate of Arts and Science in Construction Management.
In addition we offer Level I Certificates in:

Person seeking a career transition into the construction field?
Only need an Associates
Many well-paying, management positions require a Bachelor’s degree to enter the field. Construction Management only requires an Associate’s degree to make a transition in your career. You can have a fast paced career in a growth industry very quickly.
If you have no prior college, it only takes about two years to complete the AAS or three to four semesters (with prior experience) for the Level I Certificate. We have Awards for many different goals and objectives.

Average Salary for Construction Managers
Bureau of Labor Statistics as of May 2022 shows average annual salaries for Construction Managers:
Heavy and civil engineering construction: $104,600
Nonresidential building construction: $103,770
Specialty trade contractors: $98,730
Residential building construction: $82,860
Many companies provide a vehicle and give Managers large annual bonuses above the salary.
