For hobbyists and do-it-yourselfers we offer\u00a0Continuing Education<\/a>\u00a0courses at the\u00a0Riverside Campus<\/a>. Each semester we offer\u00a0Introduction to Welding<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Intermediate Arc Welding<\/a>. In general it is best to take classes in the order listed on the\u00a0program<\/a> that applies to your goals. The Welding Department cannot overload classes for safety reasons and because of limitations on available equipment.<\/p>\n

You may add yourself to the\u00a0wait list<\/a>\u00a0for a course if all seats are full when you are eligible to register. If a seat becomes available, the first person on the wait list will receive an email in their ACC student email account alerting them that they have an opportunity to register, and must do so by the deadline stated in the email.<\/p>\n

Be aware of\u00a0tuition payment deadlines<\/a>, when students who have not paid tuition (or made arrangements with the college) will lose their seats. You may be able to get a seat if someone else is dropped.<\/p>\n

The answer will depend on your needs,\u00a0 and how much time you have to dedicate to classes.\u00a0 To be a full time student you will need to take 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters.\u00a0 Most welding classes are 4 credit hours, so that means taking 3 welding courses to be a full time student.<\/p>\n

However it is not recommended to take more than 2 welding lab classes in the summer.\u00a0 The summer heat makes these classes very demanding and draining.\u00a0 Since our semester is only 9 weeks long in summer, each welding class meets twice a week for 4 hours and 45 minutes each time.\u00a0 See the\u00a0course schedule<\/a> here.<\/p>\n"},{"title":"How do I become a certified (qualified) welder?","description":"
