This position will support the development and maintenance of an Enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The internship is a part-time position with an expected 15 &#8211; 20 hours per week. This is a temporarily remote position. Local candidates only.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>WHAT YOU&#8217;LL BE DOING<br \/>\n<\/strong>Note: The duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provide assistance in the development, maintenance, training and support of GIS and related systems.<br \/>\n\u2022 Design and Configure Maps and Apps in Portal for ArcGIS.<br \/>\n\u2022 Update Item Info, Maps, and Apps in Portal for ArcGIS.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist in GIS Portal Training sessions for Agency GIS Users.<br \/>\n\u2022 Edit and maintain Sidewalk features in an ArcSDE Geodatabase.<br \/>\n\u2022 Update and maintain Point of Interest in Portal for ArcGIS or an ArcSDE Geodatabase.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority\u2019s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action and reporting safety and security concerns.<br \/>\n\u2022 Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU BRING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022Currently enrolled in a degree program at a college or university in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or related studies with the completion of a minimum of two (2) courses in GIS studies.<br \/>\n\u2022Experience with Esri\u2019s ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 or newer required.<br \/>\n\u2022Experience with Esri&#8217;s ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online\/Portal, and ArcPy preferred.<br \/>\n\u2022Experience with Safe\u2019s Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) Desktop preferred.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022Knowledge of General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) preferred.<br \/>\n\u2022Good oral and written communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.<br \/>\n\u2022Ability to coordinate several diverse job requirements and projects.<br \/>\n\u2022Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT\u2019S IN IT FOR YOU<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022Work with a diverse, collaborative and energetic workforce whose focus is to bring innovation into the industry and how we serve our customers and team members.<br \/>\n\u2022Utilize our free and reduced fare transit service to get to the office and then plan to hit the gym (for free) and work with our onsite trainers, before heading back home.<br \/>\n\u2026and much more!<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW<\/strong><br \/>\nCapital Metro is deeply committed to building a workplace where inclusion is not only valued but prioritized.
