Salary: Up to $20.00 Hourly
Job Summary: This is a temporary part-time position. Under general direction of the Enterprise Application’s Manager
Job Responsibilities: Translate basic GIS concepts, data creation tasks, and theories into functional data; Designs and maintains GIS address and street centerline data to include accurate potential address ranges, cross streets, police and fire reporting districts and other city or jurisdictional attributes; Perform research using a variety of methods including, but not limited to, on-line images of engineering / planning plans and plats; Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Strong preference is for current enrollment in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Graduate Program in Geographic Information System Science, Planning, Geography, or Computer Science. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Should have strong interest in or familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as it relates to municipal government. Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently after training. Demonstrated ability to use GIS software (ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcCatalog) and computing software. Rudimentary knowledge of Parcel Fabric and coordinate geometry, Python and ArcPy, change control and documentation processes, Microsoft Office Suite, and data editing in a versioned environment is a plus.
Certifications and Licenses: Valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
Reports to: Enterprise Applications Manager
Directs: This is a non-supervisory position
Other: Has frequent contact with the general public, business community, and city staff
