GIS Technician, Broadband at Cobb Fendley

CobbFendley is seeking an entry level GIS & Data Utilization Technician in our Austin, Texas office.

• This is an entry to mid-level position where communication skills, attention to detail and technical prowess will be the keys to success.
• Degree, Certificate or training in Geographic Information Science, Geography, AutoCAD, or other similar experience.
• Understanding of or Experience with web-based GIS – 3GIS, OSPInsight, Esri Web applications or similar.
• Understanding of GIS QC processes and procedures.
• Understanding of Esri’s Model builder, Safe FME, python or other programming language is a plus.
• Understanding of broadband networks architecture, fiber optic cables, and communication systems.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
• Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
• Desire to collaborate with professionals and clients to increase your industry knowledge and grow in your career.
• Commitment to perform responsibilities consistent with industry standards to achieve department and company goals.
