Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS student for an unpaid internship opportunity. As a GIS intern, you will gain hands-on experience in managing and analyzing geospatial data. You will work closely with our team to support various GIS projects, focusing on cadastral units, topology, and data integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and maintaining coincident geometries using topological principles.
  • Support the team in managing cadastral data within a GIS environment.
  • Ensure data accuracy, precision, and integrity through diligent attention to detail.
  • Interpret and utilize survey plats, field notes, and metes & bounds descriptions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of topology to create coincident geometries.
  • Basic understanding of cadastral units in a GIS environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and precision.
  • Basic knowledge of survey plats, field notes, and metes & bounds descriptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have completed GEO 2426 Fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems w/ Lab Hours.
  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro editing tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with creating, building, and maintaining Parcel Fabric.
