Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated GIS Specialist II in our Austin, TX office with the option to work 100% remotely. AECOM is currently under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract providing production and technical services for the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (Risk MAP) program from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Under this contract, AECOM provides engineering and other technical services nationwide, including production of effective, flexible and sustainable Risk MAP products to develop and implement tools to protect the United States from floods and other related hazardous conditions.
This person will be an integral part of the team, utilizing their knowledge of GIS, Data Management, and problem-solving skills to support our client. That candidate will support mapping and database development for riverine floodplain mapping studies for developing Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).
The successful candidate for the GIS Specialist II position will assist in managing projects and project teams to support on-going projects and quality control. The ideal candidate will need to thrive in an often times fast-paced environment, have attention to detail, and provide a broad range of floodplain mapping skills and possess QA/QC capabilities.
