Overview

The Photogrammetric Technician will utilize their knowledge of aerial mapping and cartography to provide technical support to the Geospatial team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Compile and extract feature data from stereo imagery, creating and editing digital elevation models as well as planimetric features to client specifications
  • Photointerpretation of geographic features from aerial imagery
  • Coordination and collaboration with the project team members on the progress of production
  • Ensure completion of all project forms, spreadsheets, and checklists
  • Creates or assists with reports including data reports, archiving, and final deliverables
  • Identify and develop process improvements/efficiencies and workflow automation
  • Attend training and/or meetings relating to job requirements
  • Perform quality assurance methods to ensure a high degree of data consistency, integrity, and accuracy and provide feedback in the form of constructive criticism to peers

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with ESRI ArcGIS, DAT/EM Summit Evolution, Socet Set, Socet GXP, Cardinal VR, Microstation, AutoCAD or equivalent software platforms
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of aerial mapping and cartography
  • Strong interest in earth sciences, GIS, geography, and/or land surveying
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment with changing priorities depending on project workload
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and terrains on a consistent basis and for extended periods of time.
  • Must be dependable and reliable

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, GIS, Geograpy, or related field
  • ASPRS certification
