Conservation Planner/ GIS Analyst

Siglo Group is growing! We are looking for a Conservation Planner to support and drive our work with clients associated with conservation, climate resiliency, green infrastructure, GIS, and ecosystem services.

We are a small planning firm based out of Austin, TX engaged in projects to help clients integrate ecology and conservation into land use, water use, planning, design, policy, community, and stories.  Projects address land conservation, ecological health, climate resiliency, ecosystem services, green infrastructure, nature equity, urban ecology, sustainable development, land management, park planning, cartography, GIS, and site assessment.

At Siglo, we enjoy our work, the people we get to work with, and the impact we are having on the communities where we work. Scales of projects vary from statewide assessments over millions of acres, to site-specific land management plans, to the integration of ecology into urban designs, to construction oversight. We work mostly in Texas; however, we are currently expanding our geographic range with projects in other states.

The Conservation & Sustainable Planner is responsible for complex spatial analysis, geographic data use protocols, and assessment protocols.  Additional responsibilities include written communication, creating efficient work processes, and supporting good rapport with clients and co-workers. The Sustainable Planner is results driven and meets deadlines and budgets that culminate in analysis, plans, reports, and exhibits that are integrating ecology into planning and land use, driving land conservation, addressing climate change, protecting natural resources, increasing ecological function, allowing people to enjoy nature, and helping communities create a more sustainable future.
