The City of Austin’s Geospatial Data Services (GDS) is looking for an IT Application Analyst to join our data team! GDS manages the City of Austin’s enterprise GIS data and distributes it to City users as well as the public.
This position will be instrumental in helping the team modernize existing ArcDesktop applications. They will be responsible for optimizing existing data flow processes using Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), python or other scripting languages. They will work with business units to understand their data automation needs, research and implement new Geospatial Information System (GIS) technology, and query data to create reports and performance dashboards. They may also assist team leads with implementing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) methods.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to customer service and seek out creative ways to improve the customer experience.
This person may also facilitate several roles for the division including subject matter expert on Esri’s Parcel Fabric, Esri’s HUB administrator, and Open Data Liaison for enterprise GIS data. They may also provide contract management for GIS data purchases and services.
