Job Summary
Responsible for reviewing and evaluating Public Water Systems (PWS) data sets and maintaining the GIS layer of water district boundaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Draws boundaries of newly created water districts and maintain a data set of water district boundaries using the cogo extension in ArcGIS. Reviews district paperwork to determine if boundary changes are required and enter metes and bounds using the cogo extension in ArcGIS. Provides technical assistance related to public water supply registrations to the public.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. One (1) year of experience in environmental science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of experience or equivalent classroom experience with GIS software.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database entry. Skill in organization, attentiveness to details, and the ability to work independently once trained. Ability to communicate verbally with clients, customers, coworkers to gather information and/or explain policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
Standard office environment. Job activities include but not limited to sitting, standing, lifting and carrying batches of paper up to 10 lbs. Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional and client meetings and conferences.
