IT Application Developer or IT Application Developer Senior (GIS) at the City of Austin

Salary:
IT Application Developer: $28.15 – $36.59
IT Application Developer Senior: $31.62 – $41.11

Position Overview:
The City of Austin’s Geospatial Data Services (GDS) is looking for a IT Application Developer/Senior to join our GIS software development team. GDS manages the City of Austin’s enterprise geospatial (GIS) data and distributes it to City users as well as the public. The development team creates and maintains GIS tools to ensure geospatial data integrity, maintenance and distribution are adhered to and optimized.

Responsibilities of this position include:
Maintenance and enhancement of existing GIS applications and automation scripts for the Geospatial Data Services team. These include web-based self-service applications to collect requests and provide data services, automation scripts for data distribution and server management, and GIS tools for desktop, workflow management and ArcGIS Online. Duties also include development of new applications and automation scripts as identified and part of the effort to modernize GIS at the City of Austin. The development team works closely with GIS data editors to understand their needs, responds to Help Desk tickets, and operates using an Agile method for project and incident management. This position is expected to participate in all Agile ceremonies and provide input on strategy for the team.
