Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS student for an unpaid internship opportunity. As a GIS intern, you will gain hands-on experience in managing and analyzing geospatial data. You will work closely with our team to support various GIS projects, focusing on cadastral units, topology, and data integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and maintaining coincident geometries using topological principles.
- Support the team in managing cadastral data within a GIS environment.
- Ensure data accuracy, precision, and integrity through diligent attention to detail.
- Interpret and utilize survey plats, field notes, and metes & bounds descriptions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of topology to create coincident geometries.
- Basic understanding of cadastral units in a GIS environment.
- Attention to detail to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and precision.
- Basic knowledge of survey plats, field notes, and metes & bounds descriptions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have completed GEO 2426 Fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems w/ Lab Hours.
- Experience using ArcGIS Pro editing tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with creating, building, and maintaining Parcel Fabric.
