Your Impact at SAM<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • The instrument operator uses a variety of surveying instruments to support a survey crew in their daily operations<\/li>\n
  • Assists in the completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief<\/li>\n
  • Responsible for the operation, checking and basic field adjustments of survey equipment. E.g. tripods, tribrachs, levels, total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios\/modems<\/li>\n
  • Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations<\/li>\n
  • Read and interpret various types of maps and plans<\/li>\n
  • Complete neat and orderly field notes for survey operations with supervision from Crew Chief<\/li>\n
  • Keeps Crew Chief informed of problems and progress<\/li>\n
  • Load and unload trucks with equipment and supplies<\/li>\n
  • Clean and maintain survey equipment, tools and vehicle<\/li>\n
  • Follow company safety procedures for survey operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What You Bring to SAM<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent<\/li>\n
    • Possession of a valid, current driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n
    • One year industry experience<\/li>\n
    • Knowledgeable in the principles and performance of basic types of surveys, survey computations, and field operations<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions and terrain<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work out of town, in remote locations, for extended periods of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • The crew chief oversees the daily field operations of a survey crew<\/li>\n
        • Determine most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as needed<\/li>\n
        • Proficient with documentation of work performed and sketches<\/li>\n
        • Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress<\/li>\n
        • Interact professionally with client representative and land owners<\/li>\n
        • Read and interpret construction drawings\/specifications and understand all aspects of the project specifications and tolerances<\/li>\n
        • Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork<\/li>\n
        • Maintain vehicle and field equipment<\/li>\n
        • Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          What You Bring to SAM<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • 5+ years of industry experience, prior crew chief experience is preferred<\/li>\n
          • Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs<\/li>\n
          • Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred<\/li>\n
          • Strong computer and technical skills<\/li>\n
          • Strong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal)<\/li>\n
          • Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude<\/li>\n
          • Ability to travel for extended periods<\/li>\n
          • Ability to work in all-weather climates<\/li>\n
          • Ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains and carry up to 80lbs<\/li>\n
          • Valid driver’s license, clean background check and drug screening<\/li>\n
          • Experience in Oil & Gas Projects, processes, workflows and industry<\/li>\n
          • Knowledge of Pipeline Locating, Scanning, Level Loops, Traversing, Level Loops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
