Landpoint is currently looking for an employee with high integrity and an excellent attention to detail in order to fill a position as an Instrument Man \/ Rodman for the Round Rock, TX area. Travel will be required from time to time at different job sites.<\/p>\n

This position does NOT offer daily per diem rates except on occasions where work is required outside of our local working area.<\/p>\n

Candidate should be familiar with all surveying techniques used for surveying.<\/p>\n

Essential Functions and Responsibilities<\/strong>
\n\u00b7 Will work primarily in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as Instrument Man \/ Rodman of a one, two or three-person field crew
\n\u00b7 May also perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
\n\u00b7 Cut and remove brush and undergrowth for line of sight
\n\u00b7 Performs mathematical calculations and field checking of field data
\n\u00b7 Reads and understands plans and specifications
\n\u00b7 Know basic sources of measurement errors
\n\u00b7 Performs other duties as assigned
\n\u00b7 Dig ground using a pick, shovel and other hand tools to search for and locate survey monuments
\n\u00b7 Hold and plum rod in obtaining elevations and distances
\n\u00b7 Drive stakes to set grades on construction projects
\n\u00b7 Provide quality seamless customer service
\n\u00b7 Know, understand and demonstrate safe working\/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment<\/p>\n

Education and Experience
\n<\/strong>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and\/or ability required. \n\u00b7 A 2 year or 4 year education in Surveying, preferred.
\n\u00b7 Must be experienced in controlling the function of surveying instruments and calculators
\n\u00b7 Must be physically able to work long hours and carry heavy loads
\n\u00b7 Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills
\n\u00b7 Must be able and willing to travel
\n\u00b7 Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements
\n\u00b7 Must be able to work in inclement weather
\n\u00b7 Valid driver’s license required
\n\u00b7 This position requires a pre-employment drug screen and fit-for-duty\/non-DOT physical<\/p>\n
