\nBecome a Surveyor: they’re always level-headed.
\nAs a member of the Survey Field Crew with Gessner Engineering, you represent Gessner in client interactions and are
\nresponsible for performing duties associated with the land surveying. Specific duties include but are not limited to: effectively and efficiently collecting field data, communicating and building relationships with clients, collaborating with the team to input and process data, and more.
\nResponsibilities<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Understanding the scope of any given survey and the field data needed to accomplish delivery of said scope
\n\u2022 Maintaining highly functional knowledge of survey instruments (total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, etc.)
\n\u2022 Continually look for ways to increase efficiencies in field
\n\u2022 Keeping detailed field books (including sketches)
\n\u2022 Downloading and processing field data
\n\u2022 Properly caring for equipment; including keeping Chief of Parties informed of any necessary equipment maintenance
\nQualifications<\/strong>
\nRequired:
\n\u2022 Eligible to drive while conducting company business.
\n\u2022 Candidates are subject to a motor vehicle record check for the purposes of determining insurability
\n\u2022 High School diploma or equivalent
\nPreferred:
\n\u2022 2 years of field experience in topographic survey, large boundary and construction surveying

Geotechnical Drilling Technician<\/h2>\n

\nSalary Range Starting at $16 hourly with no experience

\nJob Shift Day with some early morning and wknd

\nDescription<\/strong>
\nAs a Geotechnical Drilling Technician at Gessner Engineering, you will assist the Drilling Operator with set up and operation of drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test boring.
\nResponsibilities<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Assists with daily inspections of drilling equipment and vehicles.
\n\u2022 Load necessary supplies and equipment required for the project.
\n\u2022 Follow all company safety policies.
\n\u2022 Train and eventually perform Logging and packaging samples.
\n\u2022 Assists with simple repairs and maintenance of drilling equipment under supervision.
\n\u2022 Assist with daily drilling operations, assist with adding augers when instructed and providing driller with the proper sampling tool for the soil conditions.
\n\u2022 Communicate job site conditions with engineering staff as needed.
\n\u2022 Manage time effectively and efficiently.
\n\u2022 Opportunities for advancement: If desired, this position offers on-the-job training to eventually be promoted into a Drilling Operator.
\n\u2022 Advancement will be evaluated through aptitude, personality, and drive of the applicant.
\n\u2022 It is not a requirement for this position to become an operator.
\nQualifications<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Ability to work outside.
\n\u2022 Occasional out of town travel ranging from 1 day to up to 1 week at a time.
\n\u2022 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
\n\u2022 Preferred: Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment.

Construction Materials Technician<\/h2>\n

\nDescription<\/strong>
\nConstruction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians perform tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt both in the field and in the lab. Clients request our testing services to serve as quality control for certain aspects of their projects. The tests CMT and perform verify if materials meet specifications.
\nResponsibilities<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction sites.
\n\u2022 Performs field inspection and testing.
\n\u2022 Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs., stoop, bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour workday in varying weather conditions at various construction sites with varying terrain.
\n\u2022 Maintains a clean work area: picks up and cleans all tools and equipment.
\n\u2022 Performs materials handling and storage.
\n\u2022 Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
\n\u2022 Ensures that proper personal protective equipment is worn on all job sites. Brings problems to the attention of your manager or HR manager.
\n\u2022 Possess the ability to fluently read and understand procedures
\n\u2022 Safely operate Gessner Engineering vehicles on the road and within job sites
\nQualifications<\/strong>
\n\u2022 High school degree or GED certification
\n\u2022 Be solutions minded. Always find a way to be part of the solution.
