<\/span>The Survey Technician position supports the City of Austin Public Works Department in the <\/span>Quality Management Division. This position will research record information, process survey <\/span>data, prepare CAD files and field notes and assist field crew for boundary, topographic and <\/span>design surveys.<\/span>

<\/span>Education and\/or Equivalent Experience:<\/b><\/span>
\u2022 Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus two (2) years experience in <\/span>a field related to land surveying, environmental science, geography, mathematics, or civil <\/span>engineering; or<\/span>
\u2022 Graduation with a Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited college or university with major <\/span>coursework in environmental science, geography, mathematics, or civil engineering.<\/span>

<\/span>Preferred Qualifications<\/b><\/span>
\u2022 Experience using Trimble GPS & Total Station Equipment.<\/span>
\u2022 Experience with GIS software and other spatial analysis <\/span>software to analyze survey data.<\/span>
\u2022 Experience with customer service working with the public <\/span>and other City Departments<\/span>
\u2022 Experience with Word, Excel and ArcGIS Software.<\/span>
\u2022 Experience with ACAD Civil 3D and COGO Software.<\/span>
