These projects MAY include building a sawhorse, steps, small Nantuckett bench, garden bench and hardwood end table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Different classes may build different projects at the instructor\u2019s discretion. All projects are chosen with the goal of learning how to use dados, rabbets, and tongue and groove joints.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www6.austincc.edu\/schedule\/\">Course syllabus is available on the current semester\u2019s schedule page<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Student provided tools*\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/bct\/student-info\/student-provided-tools-2\/\">photos<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>protective eyewear (MANDATORY)<\/li>\n<li>hearing protection (highly recommended)<\/li>\n<li>tape measure, 12 ft or 16 ft<\/li>\n<li>square (triangle \u201cspeed\u201d square) and\/or combination square<\/li>\n<li>carpenter\u2019s pencils<\/li>\n<li>woodworking chisels<\/li>\n<li>notebook paper and folder for handouts<\/li>\n<li>closed-toe shoes \u2013 NO sandals or open-toe shoes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">*Each instructor may require slightly different tools; see that instructor\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www6.austincc.edu\/schedule\/\">syllabus<\/a>\u00a0for their specific list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first course in a logical sequence of courses in which students learn to build wood projects using dados, rabbets, and tongue and groove joints.
