An introduction to construction materials and methods and their applications.<\/p>\n
This is a hands-on survey course which has four components:<\/p>\n
Students learn to use math, blueprints, building specifications, optical leveling equipment,\u00a0hand tools<\/a>, portable power tools and stationary power tools in a sequence of learning activities designed for students to acquire entry-level skills and knowledge of the construction industry.<\/p>\n Students gain experience in basic woodworking and concrete skills by doing. They learn how to choose a site and lay out a building.
